More of my own interpretations of Cassandra Rhodins work

This is another example of my own interpretations of Cassandra Rhodins work. It has been roughly drawn with pencil and then scanned into photoshop and the neck tie has been coloured using tools on photoshop. I was trying to create a watercolour effect using the pencil tool and by blurring it slightly. I would have liked the colours to be more defined, as it looks more tie dyed instead of water coloured.

This was the first one I did on paper using regular drawing pencils and watercolour pencils.

This is the image that was scanned into photoshop. It was very roughly drawn in pencil first and the neck tie has been coloured using paint and pencil tools on photoshop. It didn't turn out exactly how I had expected it but it's still a nice effect.

Some of my interpretations of Cassandra Rhodins work

This picture was drawn using pencil and watercolour pencil. It was then scanned onto the computer so that it could be uploaded. I like the splash of colour in the neck tie and would like to try and recreate aspects of  this later using photoshop.

This picture was also created using pencil for the outline. It was then coloured  using water colour pencils. I like the effect that the water colours pencils give it.

Breakdown of Cassandra Rhodins work

This is a breakdown of some of Cassandra Rhodins work that I have drawn using pencil. I have shown them at different stages of development and they will later be used to show my own interpretation of Cassandra Rhodins work. These are only the basic first drawings and some digital aspects, done using photoshop or coral draw, will be developed and shown in a later post. Click on the images to make them bigger and clearer.

These pages show the breakdown of the face, I have shown the figures at different stages, for example, with just eyes and hair and then with eyes, hair and nose etc. until it had been built up to show the full face.

These pages also have some of my own notes included on them. These are general observations about the shape and size of certain features of the face and guidelines for when I am creating my own interpretations.

There aren't a lot of images from Jorgen Simonsen on the web but these are what I could find and they give a general idea of the illustrator's style. If I find more then they will be uploaded soon! Also, some of his work can be found in a book called "Fashion illustration by fashion designers" which I will scan in and upload later.
